Join Table for Two, a network of Japan-America Societies, and the US JET Alumni Association for a virtual Japanese cooking class - Ouchigohan!

We’ll be making: Harusame Salad & refreshing Coffee Jelly!

Saturday, June 13

6:00 - 7:30 PM ET | 5:00 - 6:30 PM CT

JASA or other JAS/JS Members: $10

Non-Members: $15

This class will be taught by Debra Samuels, lead curriculum and recipe developer for Wa-Shokuiku, a program of TABLE FOR TWO USA. Debra is an author of two cookbooks and co-author of Japanese Cooking for Kids, TFT’s new cookbook and the 2020 recipient of the John E. Thayer III Award for Outstanding Contributions to Cultural Exchange Between the United States and Japan.

This virtual Japanese cooking class is held once a month via Zoom.

Cook along while a Table for Two chef demonstrates how to cook a Japanese recipe! Registrants receive the recipe and a list of ingredients in advance.

Join JASA Friends for the Kayoubikai (火曜日会) held every 3rd Tuesday of the month!

It's a great chance to socialize and practice Japanese with the lively JASA community. Everyone is welcome, regardless of membership.

Please RSVP at least three days in advance. The event is free, but participants are responsible for their meal costs afterward.

Enjoy a fun dinner at a Japanese restaurant in the Birmingham area!

Welcome to the JASA Japanese Language Club!

Join us once a month on Thursdays, starting at 6:30 PM at Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest.

We encourage you to study the Hiragana, Katakana, and grammar section on your own at home. During our sessions, we'll focus on answering questions you have and/or practice conversational Japanese together!

Feel free to ask questions, share resources, and connect with fellow learners in this group. We're excited to study with you!
