What is Tanabata? - Tanabata is a Japanese festival celebrated on July 7th. It originated from a Chinese legend that tells the story of two stars, Altair (Hikoboshi; the prince) and Vega (Orihime; the princess), who are normally separated by the Milky Way but can meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month.
