Every year, the Japan-America Society of Alabama (JASA) brings together its members and guests for a special dinner. This occasion not only provides a platform for networking but also includes a special program to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable contributions made by companies and individuals that enhance Japan's presence in the state of Alabama.

We are honored to welcome baseball legend, Mr. Greg “Boomer” Wells, as our keynote speaker. As a Major League player with Toronto Blue Jays and the Minnesota Twins, he also played for Hankyu Braves, Orix Braves, Orix Bluewave and Fukuoaka Daiei Hawks in Japan between 1982-1992. As native of Mcintosh, Alabama, Boomer is a true international sports hero.
We will also take this opportunity recognize New and Expanding Japanese Companies that have made a significant impact in Alabama, as well as to present the 2023 Samuel Ullman Award to an individual who has demonstrated commitment and dedication to furthering the Japan-Alabama relationship.
