    Thanks to the 2018 Guest Speaker Grant given by the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS), we were able to host Dr. Brian Woodall from Georgia Tech University at the University of Alabama in Gorgas Library on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 3:30 pm. Dr. Woodall gave a captivating presentation on Japan-US relations under the administrations of President Trump and Prime Minister Abe.

    Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) announced they will hold a seminar on business strategies to Latin American countries in Atlanta. The guest speaker, 水野 亮(Mizuno Ryou), is an Executive Researcher and Consultant of TWI Global business, and will present a lecture about the effects of renegotiation of NAFTA and changing foreign trade policies in the region. They also have webinar for those unable to visit. This event is free and given only in Japanese.

    DISCO International, Inc. organizes job fairs for Japanese-English bilinguals called “Career Forums” worldwide.
    Their biggest job fair, the Boston Career Forum, brings about 200 world class companies and 5,000 participants.

    One of the job fairs they have coming up is the San Francisco Career Forum next month.
    It is open to anyone who is bilingual in English and Japanese, but at this particular event, there is a high demand for candidates with IT and engineering background.
    There is also going to be SFCF exclusive panel discussions on both days with IT and engineering professionals active in Silicon Valley as panelists.

    Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Motor Corporation have recently announced that their joint venture for a new assembly plant in the U.S. will be built in Huntsville, Alabama! The $1.6 billion assembly plant will create 4,000 new jobs by 2021 in the Huntsville Area. Check out the whole article from AL.com here!
