JASA is governed by a Board of Directors comprising up to 50 members, including Honorary Board Members. The Board oversees the organization's activities, programs, membership, and financial health. Directors are elected annually and serve renewable three-year terms, divided into staggered classes to ensure continuity. The Nominating Committee proposes a slate of candidates, including Officers such as the President and Treasurer, who serve one-year terms starting at the Annual Meeting.
The Executive Committee, appointed by the President, plays a key role in shaping policies and programs. It endorses the budget prepared by the Treasurer and monitors financial performance throughout the year. This committee also reviews the Nominating Committee's candidate slate before it is presented to the membership for election at the Annual Meeting.
